Mission Alignment
Hilton Head Preparatory School is a joyful, accepting, and ambitious community where
students discover what is great about themselves and the world around them.
Our Core Values
Scholarship, Community, Integrity, Excellence, and Creativity guide every aspect of teaching and learning. We seek educators whose instruction, character, and leadership naturally reflect these values.
We are seeking a visionary, compassionate, and experienced Division Head to lead our Montessori division. This role is the heartbeat of our Montessori Lower School, balancing the meticulous standards of the Montessori philosophy with the operational demands of a thriving educational environment.
The ideal candidate is a "servant leader" who has spent meaningful time guiding a classroom and now finds joy in guiding teachers, supporting parents, and ensuring that
every child’s "inner light" is nurtured.
Key Responsibilities
1. Pedagogical Leadership & Advocacy
● Ensure the integrity of the Montessori curriculum across all Sea Pines Montessori
Academy classrooms (Pre-Primary through Lower Elementary).
● Mentor and evaluate faculty, fostering a culture of continuous professional
growth and "Observation-First" practices.
● Lead the transitions for students moving from Pre-Primary (starting at 15
months) to Primary, Primary to Lower Elementary, and Lower Elementary to
Fourth Grade.
2. Administrative Management
● Oversee daily operations, including scheduling, budget management for
classroom materials, and compliance with licensing standards.
● Collaborate with the Head of School on strategic planning and school-wide
initiatives.
● Manage recruitment and hiring for Montessori staff.
● Lead the AMS Accreditation process.
3. Community & Parent Engagement
● Act as the primary point of contact for Montessori parents, providing education
on Montessori philosophy and child development.
● Facilitate parent-teacher conferences and lead "Journey and Discovery" workshops.
● Resolve student and family concerns with empathy, transparency, and a focus on
the school’s mission.
● Work cooperatively with Admissions to conduct "Montessori Live" events and
tours, on early childhood readiness assessments, and in retention efforts.
Required Qualifications & Experience
● Montessori Certification: A valid credential from an accredited body (AMI,
AMS, or MACTE).
● Teaching Experience: A minimum of 5 years of lead teaching experience in a
Montessori School environment.
● Administrative Experience: At least 2–3 years in a leadership or
administrative role (e.g., Coordinator, Assistant Head, or Program Director).
● Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree
in Education or Educational Leadership is strongly preferred.
