  • Full-time CDL Bus Driver

  • Long-Term Substitute Middle School Spanish Teacher

    Job Title: Long-Term Substitute Middle School Spanish Teacher
    Grades: 7th-8th (Spanish 1A and 1B)
    Location: Hilton Head Prep (Independent School)

    Position Overview:

    Hilton Head Preparatory School is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Long-Term Substitute Middle School Spanish Teacher to cover Spanish 1A and 1B classes for grades 7th and 8th. This position will require delivering pre-designed lessons, ensuring continuity of learning, and maintaining a supportive classroom environment during the absence of the regular teacher. The ideal candidate will have a passion for language instruction, an understanding of middle school learners, and the flexibility to adapt quickly to the needs of the classroom.

    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field.
    • Fluency in Spanish with a strong understanding of Spanish grammar and culture.
    • Experience teaching or working with middle school students, preferably in a classroom setting.
    • Ability to follow established curriculum and lesson plans while managing the classroom independently.
    Duration:
    This is a temporary position covering March 12, 2025, through May 27, 2025, with the potential for extension depending on need.

  • Upper School Photography, Studio, and Digital Art Teacher

    Position Overview:

    Qualifications:
    Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art or a related field (Master’s preferred)

    Teaching certification and/or prior teaching experience at the Upper School level preferred, but professional
    experience in the arts will be considered.

    Expertise in studio and digital art, photography, including proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite and other
    relevant technologies.

     Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for mentoring adolescents.

  • Part-time CDL Bus Driver

  • Prep Plus Aftercare

    Our Prep Plus Aftercare program is needing assistants! Prep Plus is offered every calendar school day here at Hilton Head Prep. The hours are Monday-Thursday from 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm and Friday from 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm. Compensation will be $20 per hour.
  • Substitute Teachers

    We are seeking talented and inspired elementary through high school Guest Teachers for our multi-age classrooms. A position at Prep is an opportunity to grow as a teacher/researcher in a supportive and active community. This position requires a person who is detail oriented, child centered, has a sense of humor and most of all, is able to work in a team. 
     
    Responsibilities
    •Carries out a program of study prescribed in the lesson plans left by the classroom teacher
    •Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
    •Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives as indicated in the lesson plans for the lessons, units, or projects assigned
    •Employs instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting lesson objectives

  • Varsity Softball Coach

    Hilton Head Preparatory School (HHP) is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Program Director/Varsity Coach of Girls Softball with a positive attitude and eagerness to establish a competitive, disciplined, and organized program; through developing a structured plan for progression and growth. The head coach should embrace the understanding of the importance and role of athletics within the school, as a co-curricular activity that helps to develop the whole child. 
     
    Coaching Responsibilities:  
    • Serve as the Program Director/Varsity Coach of Girls Softball overseeing the development, promotion, and growth of the softball golf program (Grades 8-12) in conjunction with the mission of HHP
    • Serve as a leader in building appropriate relationships, while being a role model for those in your program
    • Report to and work closely with the Director of Athletics
    • Abide by the rules and regulations established by HHP – we are a member of the South Carolina Independent School Association (SCISA)
    • Be encouraging while training and coaching the participants in your program
    • Work collegially with fellow coaches and Athletic department staff
    • Instruct players in the rules, regulations, and techniques of the sport
    • Schedule and organize effective practice sessions
    • Implement sound strategies to encourage improvement during practices and games
    • Utilize school transportation to transport athletes to and from practices and games
    • Role models good sportsmanship, and maintains appropriate conduct towards athletes, officials, and spectators
    • Schedule practices and games in conjunction with the Director of Athletics and Scheduling Coordinator (our Associate AD)
    • Coordinate summer coaching/playing opportunities and camp selection with players (and families), when applicable
    • Generate additional support of the program through building connections with middle school students and families.
    Qualifications: 
    • Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated success as a high school player; or 1 or more years as a collegiate player, and or 2 or more years as a coach at the middle/high school level or above 
    • Strong leadership experience preferred
    • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills to work with coaching staff, faculty, and administrative team members of the school
    • Utilize excellent communication skills with players, parents, and the athletic department
    • Exhibit great attention to detail in communication, preparation, and organization
    • Have a strong commitment to the multi-sport student-athlete concept
    • CPR certification training is required
    • Complete all required SCISA paperwork
    • Pass a background check
    Season:
    • This is a part time position from January 27th through early May.
    • Stipend commensurate with experience, minimum $3000

  • Weekend Relief House Parent

    Compensation: $2,500/year
    Description:
    Supervise and support students and visitors (if there are any) in the boarding house on seven weekends over the school year, including two 3-day weekends. Weekends start at 4:00 pm on Friday and end at 6:00 pm on Sunday (or on Monday for 3-day
    weekends). The majority of the time the Weekend Relief House Parent (WRHP) will be able to go home to sleep after
    students are in bed and quiet, which is usually a few minutes after midnight, and return to the house no later than 8:00 am the following morning. It is possible that the WRHP may need to spend the night in the downstairs guest room if both regular houseparents are out of the house or otherwise incapable of
    responding if there is a night time emergency.  Upon arrival, the WRHP will be briefed on student whereabouts, plans, and overall house status by the house parent on duty.

    Responsibilities include:
    • Maintaining student safety and promoting health and growth (physical, social, emotional, academic)
    • Upholding and enforcing boarding house policies and norms
    • Preparing and serving lunch and dinner (on weekends, students prepare their own breakfasts). Meal planning and shopping will be done by the Director of Residential Life.
    • Ensuring that meal clean-up happens promptly and thoroughly to avoid food spoilage and attraction of pests.
    • Know the whereabouts of all students at all times
    • Sponsor and support student activities (which may include driving students in a school vehicle)
    • Communicate with the Director of Residential Life to clarify questions and report incidents
    • Use common sense to navigate an infinite number of possible scenarios involving teenagers.
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in any subject
    • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
    • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with teenagers in a school, sports, camp, or residential setting
    • Responsible
    • Able and willing to enforce policies
    • Able and willing to mediate conflict resolution
    • Able and willing to prepare, serve, and clean up meals (or ensure clean-up happens)
